Festoon bulbs are often used in a variety of light fixtures. They can be found in courtesy lights, dome lights and in navigation lights. Their low profile allows them to fit in most of these fixtures, yet provide a good amount of light. In marine and automotive environments, it is often best to use a festoon light with LEDs on all sides. This is because due to vibrations the bulbs can rotate in the socket, if the LEDs only face one direction then they may turn to the wrong direction with these vibrations.

This bulb is often used in Perko Navigation Lights, for other brands the 31mm model is more commonly used.
